All applicants must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and proof of insurance. Each route takes approximately 1 to 3 hours per day, working between 2:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.

How much money can I earn from a route?
Profit from routes in Fayette County average approximately $600 to $900 per month. Routes in the state area average $1,000 plus per month.

What are the advantages to having a route?
The money is really good for the time invested and the early morning hours are compatible with daytime activities. Many of our carriers are stay-at-home moms or have daytime jobs.

Do I collect?
Approximately 80% of our customers pay directly to the Herald-Leader but some routes still have a few customers that are collected by carriers each month.

How long does it take to do a route?
It varies based on the route size. Typical route delivery time is from 2 to 3 hours.

When do the papers have to be delivered?
The Herald-Leader has a delivery goal of 6:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and 7:00 on Sunday.
